Detailed Next Steps to Deploy to Production

Step 1: Deploy Code (5 minutes)

./scripts/deploy-koha-to-production.sh

What this does:

• Syncs all Koha backend code to production
• Syncs all Koha frontend code to production
• Syncs scripts and utilities
• Shows next manual steps

Step 2: SSH into Production (1 minute)

cd /var/www/tractatus

Step 3: Initialize Database (2 minutes)

Expected output:

Verify:

Step 4: Configure Environment Variables (3 minutes)

Step 7: Test Frontend Pages (2 minutes)

Open browser and visit:

   • Should show "Coming Soon" overlay
   • Should NOT allow form interaction

2. https://agenticgovernance.digital/koha/transparency

   • Should show "Coming Soon" overlay
   • Should show return to homepage button

3. https://agenticgovernance.digital/privacy.html

   • Should load normally (NO overlay)
   • Privacy policy should be readable

Step 8: Verify No Public Access (1 minute)

Check that Koha is NOT linked from main site:

After completing Steps 1-8, verify:

• Database collection koha_donations exists with 10 indexes

• koha.html shows coming soon overlay
• transparency.html shows coming soon overlay
• success.html shows coming soon overlay
• privacy.html loads normally (no overlay)
• No public navigation links to Koha pages
• Server logs show no Koha-related errors

What Happens Next Week

When you have live Stripe keys ready:

Quick Activation (2-3 hours)

1. Update .env with real Stripe keys (10 min)

   • Replace all PLACEHOLDER values
   • Create Stripe products/prices with currency_options
   • Create webhook endpoint

2. Remove safety measures (5 min)

   • Delete overlay script tags from HTML files
   • Remove PLACEHOLDER check from controller
   • Verify code changes

3. Add navigation links (5 min)

   • Update navbar to include Koha link
   • Update footer with donation link

4. Test thoroughly (30 min)

   • Test checkout flow with test cards
   • Verify webhook delivery
   • Test all 10 currencies
   • Test monthly and one-time donations
   • Verify transparency dashboard updates

5. Restart and monitor (5 min)

   • Restart production server
   • Monitor logs for 15 minutes
   • Watch for successful test donation

6. Announce launch (30 min)

   • Update website with donation call-to-action
   • Social media announcement (optional)
   • Email supporters (optional)

Issue: Server won't start after deployment
